We checked UK formats and used the guest editor on 6 November 2026. A licensed cover photo and a three-photo spread uploaded successfully; the editor flagged the sample images as low resolution.

tbf scrapbook is a competing service. This is an observed editor check and researched format guide. We have not received a printed Once Upon book or completed a paid order.

Check the format before arranging the book

The checked page lists 20 by 20 cm and 27 by 27 cm sizes, with the available cover choices shown by format. It describes books from 20 to 300 pages.

A square page may suit the collection but crop a wide photograph if you fill the whole page. Test a portrait and a wide image before committing to a full layout.

Compare the full price

The UK page listed a 20-page medium hardback at £21 and delivery at £5. That makes a £26 reference basket before upgrades or offers, calculated from published rates, not a completed checkout.

For that format, the listed extra-page rate was £0.45. A 40-page version would therefore be £21 + 20 × £0.45 + £5 = £35 under those assumptions. Recheck the quote before paying.

Choose the paper using a sample where possible

Once Upon lists silk matte and semi-gloss options. Those labels describe choices; they do not establish how your particular photographs will reproduce.

If paper feel or colour is central to the decision, inspect a real sample. This guide has not measured either finish against another printer.

Decide whether the workflow fits

Our draft placed a portrait pier photo on one page and a landscape photo with a photographed drawing on the facing page. It offered Layout and Mirror controls and recommended images of at least 3 MP.

If you need scanned keepsakes and recordings on the same editable pages, compare those requirements separately. Do not assume every photo-book app includes them.

Steps

  1. Choose the regional product

Open the country version relevant to the delivery address.

  2. Try varied images

Check how portraits and wide photographs fit the available layouts.

  3. Record the basket

Use the intended final page count and cover.

  4. Review the proof

Check every crop and any small writing before placing an order.
