Photo book from Facebook: export and check your photos
Export your Facebook photos, keep the photographs you want and check their pixel dimensions before making a book. Use original camera files where available; an export cannot restore lost detail.
Start with 40 pages free. No card needed.

Facebook may show Meta Account settings or Accounts Center during its current settings change. Follow Export your information for the profile whose photos you want.
This is a manual export-and-upload workflow based on Meta's current help. It is not a direct Facebook integration in tbf, and we have not tested a private account export for this guide.
This follows Meta's published export instructions. We have not completed a new Facebook account export for this guide.
Make a photo book
Arrange your photos on the pages, check the proof and order a printed copy.
| Check | What to inspect | Decision |
|---|---|---|
| Profile | Correct profile and date range | Request the relevant export |
| Image size | Pixel width and height | Choose a suitable printed size |
| Date | Capture date versus post date | Keep uncertainty visible |
| Writing | Your original caption or note | Copy only what you choose to keep |
| Private files | Information unrelated to the book | Leave outside the upload folder |
Request the right information
Open the export settings for your Facebook profile. Choose export to your device, then select the relevant information, date range and available media-quality option.
Avoid exporting unrelated account information just to make a book. Keep the downloaded archive private; it may contain more than the photographs you intend to use.
Inspect the archive before uploading
Extract the archive on your own computer and open the selected image files. Keep a copy of the untouched download before renaming or moving anything.
A post date may be an upload date rather than the day the photograph was taken. Preserve any caption or context you wrote in a separate reference file.
Compare the images with camera originals
Check pixel width and height, not only file size. At a target of 300 pixels per inch, a 1,200 by 900 pixel image gives about 4 by 3 inches before cropping.
A photo saved from Facebook can differ from its camera original. Compare faces and fine detail at the size you intend to use; keep a small image small when that is the only copy.
Build from a small selected folder
Choose a subject and date range for the book. Copy only the selected photographs into a working folder so account-export files cannot be uploaded by mistake.
In tbf scrapbook, add those files through the normal photo upload. Recheck dates, permission to share other people's pictures and any personal details visible in screenshots.
Steps
Select the profile
Use the export settings for the Facebook profile that holds the photos.
Keep the archive
Save an untouched copy and extract it into a private folder.
Choose full-size files
Compare selected downloads with any camera originals you still have.
Make a small test spread
Upload a few pictures and inspect them at their intended page size.
Questions
Can tbf import a Facebook album directly?
This guide uses a manual download followed by a normal photo upload. It does not promise a direct Facebook album integration.
Will exporting Facebook recover the original quality?
An export gives the available stored file. It cannot recreate detail missing from that file. Use the camera original when you still have it.
Why are the Facebook menu names different?
Meta says accounts are being moved gradually. You may see Meta Account settings or Accounts Center; look for Export your information for the correct profile.
