Photo book shipping estimator: when a printed book arrives

Pick the cover, shape, pages and copies and the day you will order. It shows the days the book is likely to arrive and about what it costs delivered, with Mixbook's estimator read beside it.

A printed book has two waits, printing and the post, and the second is the one people forget. The estimator adds both up for your book and draws the answer on a calendar.

Type the day you need it by and it turns round: the last day to order, or a plain no. The book on a screen has no wait at all, which is the way out when the date is tight.

When will the book arrive

Choose the book, then the day you will order. Weekends and bank holidays are skipped.

How the estimate is worked out

Five working days to print, then the post: seven to ten working days in all for a book printed in the UK, ten to fifteen for lay-flat, which is made in Europe. Weekends and bank holidays are skipped.

The price is our printer's rates of 16 October 2026 plus the studio's margin, delivery in. The studio shows the exact figure before you pay.

What Mixbook's estimator gave

Read on 17 October 2026 for a UK address, 8.5 inch square softcover: Standard £4.99 for 27 October, Express £9.99 for 26 October. A day sooner for twice the postage, with the book priced on top.

Its UK postage goes by size: £4.99 or £9.99 for the 8.5 inch squares, £6.99 or £12.99 for 8.5 by 11, £9.99 or £15.99 for 10 and 12 inch.

Where the two differ

Mixbook sells a faster post. We do not: one post, one price with delivery inside it, and no express button.

What we have is a book finished on a screen before anything is printed, so if the print misses the day, the link does not.

Steps

  1. Set the book you will actually order

Lay-flat alone changes the wait. The page count moves the price.

  2. Pick the order day

Today for a straight answer, or the day the proof will be checked.

  3. Put in the day you need it

The last day to order appears on the calendar. If it has passed, share the link.

  4. Order from the studio once the proof is right

The exact price and the same estimate are shown before payment.

Questions

Is the arrival window a promise?

No. It is the usual range for that cover, and the studio repeats it before you pay.

Can I pay for faster delivery?

No. Every printed book goes by one post. Mixbook's Express bought one day on the reading above.

Do you post books outside the UK?

The studio takes a UK address for a printed book. The link reads anywhere.
