If you arrived looking for Artkive reviews, this is a researched service comparison, not a customer testimonial. We have not sent an artwork box or received a finished Artkive book.

tbf scrapbook is a competing DIY book maker and publishes this guide. The Artkive product information was checked on 5 November 2026; your actual quote and terms still need checking.

Understand what the service does

Artkive describes sending an artwork box, photographing and editing each piece, then providing a digital proof. Its book listing states 25 to 350 images.

The checked page lists 8 by 8 inch and 11 by 8.5 inch book options and access to digital images. Confirm which options are included in your particular order.

Ask for the whole cost

Separate the initial box or deposit from the book, extra artwork, delivery and any return-of-originals charge. Ask what happens if the submitted quantity differs from the estimate.

Keep a written record of the order terms before sending material. A promotional starting price cannot establish the final total for your collection.

Record what leaves your home

Photograph and number the items before packing. Keep a list of anything borrowed, fragile or particularly important and check the service's handling rules for it.

Confirm how originals are stored, returned or otherwise handled, and how to obtain the digital files. Do not assume a book order includes every option.

Compare the service with a DIY book

The service route trades your capture and layout time for a paid process. DIY means you control photography and arrangement but also perform those tasks and check the result yourself.

Use the children's-artwork guide for a DIY plan. Compare an actual printed sample if paper, binding or colour reproduction will decide your choice.

Steps

  1. Inventory the artwork

Number and photograph the pieces before considering shipment.

  2. Request the complete terms

Check the book, images, delivery and originals handling together.

  3. Compare the DIY effort

Estimate the capture and layout work you would otherwise do yourself.

  4. Review the proof carefully

Check each selected piece and all factual labels before approval.

Questions

Is this a hands-on Artkive review?

No. It is a dated comparison of the published service and the questions to settle. We have not ordered or received an Artkive book for this page.

Does Artkive return the original artwork?

Check and record the current return and handling terms for your order before sending anything. This guide does not assume that every return option is included.

What is the DIY alternative?

Photograph the artwork, keep its identifying details and arrange the images in a book editor. The children's-artwork guide includes blank layouts and an inventory plan.
