Free digital scrapbook paper: lined, grid and dots

Download the free lined, grid and dotted digital scrapbook papers on this page. These original SVG backgrounds are for personal or commercial use in an editor that accepts the format.

Choose a lined, grid or dotted background from the downloads below. Each file is a square pattern without photographs or writing.

Check whether your editor accepts SVG images. The paper is a background; you arrange your own photos and keepsakes on top.

Try this in your own scrapbook

Arrange your photos on the pages of a digital scrapbook in your browser.

Download blank digital paper

Three original SVG papers for your own pages. Use them for personal or commercial work. These files contain no photographs or text.

Choose a pattern

Use lines around a larger writing area, a grid to align photographs or dots around small keepsakes.

Try a pale photo and a handwritten object on the paper. Put a plain mat behind either one if the pattern makes it harder to see.

Check the download format

Each SVG has a warm off-white background. Resize it in a compatible editor, then check that the pattern has not become too large for the page.

If your editor needs a different format, convert a copy in software that opens SVG. Keep the original download.

Leave plain space behind small writing

Put writing on a plain panel if repeated lines cross the letters. Use a narrow solid mat beneath a scanned receipt so its own paper edge remains visible.

Repeat the paper within a chapter. Change it when the subject changes, if you want to mark that break.

Keep the original files

The three papers are free for personal and commercial use. They contain the background pattern only.

Save the downloaded paper beside your source photographs. Keep the unaltered file if you make a converted copy.

Steps

  1. Download a paper

Pick the pattern that fits the page you are making. Use its paper download link to save the SVG file.

  2. Check it in your editor

Open the downloaded file in software that supports SVG. Inspect the pattern and keep an untouched copy before resizing or converting it.

  3. Test photos and handwriting

Try a photo and your own writing on the paper. Add a plain panel where the pattern crosses letters or obscures a detail.

  4. Keep the pattern the same size

Check the pattern at reading size. Use that size on the other pages in the chapter.

Questions

Where can I get free digital scrapbook paper?

Choose lined, grid or dotted paper in the download section. Check that your editor accepts SVG before adding the background to a page.

Can I use these papers commercially?

The three original backgrounds provided here are free for personal and commercial use. Check separate permissions for any photographs or other graphics you add to them.
