What I love about you book: how to make your own
A what I love about you book gives one page to each thing you love about someone. Shop versions are fill-in-the-blank; a homemade one uses your own words, photos and keepsakes.
Start with 40 pages free. No card needed.

The shop versions print the first half of every sentence. Making your own means a page can be a photo, a ticket or a memory, in your words.
The questions below help find what to put on each page. What you write is yours.

Questions to find what goes on each page
- When did you first notice something about them that made you smile?
- What do they do that nobody else seems to see?
- What did they do on a bad day of yours that you still think about?
- Which photo of them do you look at most, and why that one?
- What do they say that you now say too?
- What have they taught you without meaning to?
- Where were you the last time you both laughed until you cried?
- What small habit of theirs makes an ordinary day feel like home?
- What did they do for someone else that you admired?
- What have they made, cooked or mended that you still use?
How many pages
Pick a number with a meaning: their age, the years you have known them, the days in their birthday month. Ten true pages are better than fifty thin ones.
Things as well as words
A cinema ticket, a photo, a note they left on the fridge. The object says when and where; your sentence says why it matters.
Paper or online
A small notebook and a glue stick are enough. An online book takes photos straight from your phone and can be shared as a link.
Pages to make
The opening page
A photo of the two of you and the date the book was made.
Small things
Habits and phrases, one to a page, each beside a photo where you have one.
Times they showed up
A page for each day they helped, with a ticket or note from then.
The last page
Left blank for them to answer, or for the pages you add next year.
Questions
What do you write in a what I love about you book?
One specific thing a page: something they do, said or made, and when you noticed it. A detail only you would know reads truer than a general compliment.
Who can a what I love about you book be for?
Anyone: a partner, a parent, a friend, a grandparent. Several people can each add pages to one book for a birthday or a send-off.
How many pages should it have?
As many as you have true things for. A number with a meaning, such as their age or your years together, gives it a shape.
