Two-photo scrapbook layout ideas
A two-photo scrapbook layout can compare moments, pair a wide scene with a detail or show two people equally. Choose the relationship first, then place the photos side by side or stacked.
Use equal image sizes when neither photograph should lead. Use unequal sizes when one sets the scene and the other explains a detail.
Use the equal-box sketch for two photos of equal importance. The stacked and mixed arrangements are other options for a 12-inch square page.

Compare dates or pair a scene with a detail
Earlier and later views benefit from matching sizes and aligned edges. A landscape with a close-up can give the overview more space.
Do not enlarge a low-resolution photo just to match the other one. Keep it smaller if the larger version looks blurred.
Use the shapes you have
Two portrait 4 by 6-inch boxes fit side by side with a 0.5-inch gap, forming an 8.5-inch-wide block. Two landscape 6 by 4-inch boxes fit in a stack 8.5 inches high.
If both images need different shapes, align their top or bottom edges. An obvious shared edge helps the reader see the pair.
Put dates beneath their photographs
For a comparison, put each date in the same position beneath its image. Otherwise the reader may have to guess which date belongs to which photograph.
Use a shared keepsake below the pair only if it relates to both. A ticket from one occasion belongs closer to that occasion's photograph.
Place the photos
Two portraits
Place two 4 by 6-inch portraits at left positions 1.75 and 6.25 inches, with their tops 2 inches down. The central gap is 0.5 inches.
Two landscapes
Centre two 6 by 4-inch landscapes at a left position of 3 inches. Put their top edges at 1.75 and 6.25 inches.
Equal comparison
Use two 4-inch squares side by side with a 0.5-inch gap. Keep their dates directly below and preserve the same crop scale where possible.
Scene and detail
Put a 6 by 4-inch scene above a smaller detail image. Align the smaller image to the main photo's left edge and put its identification beside it.
Questions
Can two full 4 by 6-inch prints fit on one scrapbook page?
On a 12-inch square, two portraits can sit side by side and two landscapes can stack with a 0.5-inch gap. Check extra mounts and binding space.
How do I arrange one portrait and one landscape?
Use a shared top edge or put the landscape above the portrait. Let the more important image lead instead of cropping both into matching shapes.
Should two photos always be the same size?
Equal sizes suit comparisons and equally important people. Different sizes suit a setting photograph and a smaller detail from that scene.
