Making your Bruges photo book
Bruges is a canal town, so expect half the book to have water in it. Rozenhoedkaai, with the belfry rising behind the brick houses, is the photograph everyone takes, and it belongs on the first spread. The second spread suits the Markt and the stepped gables around it. A boat on the Dijver fills spread three. Close with the swans on the Minnewater and the white houses of the Begijnhof.
Get to Rozenhoedkaai before nine, while the day visitors are still on the train from Brussels. The belfry stairs are narrow and the view at the top is through mesh, so hold the phone right against it. A waffle from a stand on the Markt, or the wrapper from a box of pralines, can go flat on a page.
