Making your Corfu photo book
Corfu town carries four centuries of Venice and fifty years of Britain, and the book starts there: the Old Fortress, and cricket on the Spianada in front of the Liston arcade. The narrow lanes of the Campiello fill the second spread. Cross to the west coast for the cliffs and coves at Paleokastritsa. End in the north, at Kassiopi or Kalami, where the white house on the water looks across a strait at Albania.
Kumquat liqueur is sold all over the island in bottles shaped like towers, and the label is the thing to keep. Paleokastritsa faces west, so go in the late afternoon and leave the town for the morning.
