Making your Highlands photo book
A Highlands book is mostly road and weather. The A82 through Glen Coe gives you Buachaille Etive Mòr for the first spread, and somewhere along it a Highland cow will stand still long enough for a close-up. Use the wide second spread for Rannoch Moor or the hills above Loch Ness. Eilean Donan sits on its causeway near Dornie and works as a whole page on spread three. The last spread is for Skye if you got that far, the Old Man of Storr and the river at Sligachan.
Cloud moves fast here, and one glen can go grey and then gold within a few minutes, so stop the car and wait instead of driving on. Midges come out on still summer evenings; May and September are kinder. Keep the Mallaig ferry ticket and the stub from a distillery tour, and give them a page of their own, flat.
