Making your Malaga photo book
Most Malaga photos are taken from above, because the Gibralfaro castle sits right over the port. Climb it for the first spread, with the bullring and La Malagueta beach in one frame. The cathedral, called La Manquita for the second tower it never got, fills another. Then come down to the Alcazaba and Calle Larios, and the Atarazanas market where the fried fish counters are. A train to Ronda, or the Caminito del Rey walkway, gives a last spread with mountains in it.
The path up Gibralfaro is steep and has no shade, so do it in the morning. At Pedregalejo, order espetos, sardines grilled on a cane over an old boat filled with sand, and photograph the boat. Picasso was born on Plaza de la Merced; the museum ticket and the one from his birth house make a pair.
