Making your Vienna photo book
In Vienna the buildings are huge and the cafés small. Open on the Ringstrasse, with the Hofburg and the Rathaus along it. Schönbrunn follows, the yellow palace seen from the Gloriette on the hill behind. Spend a spread inside a coffee house, Café Central or Sperl, where the coffee comes on a small silver tray with a glass of water. Close at the Naschmarkt on a Saturday, with the flea market at its far end.
The palace's garden front faces south and stays lit most of the day, so the climb to the Gloriette is worth it at any hour. Keep the café receipt; it lists the coffees by their Viennese names, Melange and Einspänner.
