Making your Mallorca photo book
Mallorca splits into the city and the mountains. Palma has the cathedral above its sea wall and the lanes behind the Born. The Serra de Tramuntana is the other half, with Deià on its hill and the wooden train to Sóller. Give each half a spread and you still have two left for the coast, Cap de Formentor or the clear water at Caló des Moro.
The almond trees on the cover flower in late January and February, when the island is quiet and the hills go white. The Sóller train leaves from Plaça d'Espanya in Palma, and its ticket is a good one to bring home. Photograph the cathedral across the lake late in the day, when the sun is on the stone and the water is still.
