Miami's buildings do the colour, so the cover keeps to two, a pink flamingo on teal. Sort the pages by colour too, from the pastel Art Deco hotels on Ocean Drive to the lifeguard towers of South Beach and the Wynwood Walls.

Making your Miami photo book
Miami's colours are already painted on the buildings, so sort the book by them. Ocean Drive's Art Deco hotels are the pastels, mint and pink. South Beach's lifeguard towers are the brights. Wynwood's walls are everything at once, and a Cuban coffee on Calle Ocho in Little Havana sits well beside them. The blues come last: Biscayne Bay from a boat, or the drive across to Key Biscayne.
The neon on Ocean Drive comes on at dusk, and the twenty minutes after sunset, with blue sky still behind the pink signs, is the photo. Every lifeguard tower is painted differently, so walk a stretch of the beach and collect them. A receipt from a ventanita coffee window looks right on a page.
