Making your Puglia photo book
Puglia is long and thin, so its book reads as a drive south. Polignano a Mare goes first, the houses on the cliff above the cove at Lama Monachile. After it come the white lanes of Ostuni and the cone roofs of Alberobello. In Bari Vecchia orecchiette is still shaped by hand at tables along Arco Basso, and that street deserves a spread of its own. End in Lecce, at the carved church fronts on Piazza del Duomo, with a pasticciotto still warm from the bar.
Ostuni is blinding white at midday and goes the colour of honey in the hour before sunset, so climb back up then. Peel the label off the Primitivo you drank at the masseria and keep it for the last page.
