Making your Santorini photo book
Santorini is a crescent of cliff round a flooded crater. Fira opens it, the switchback path down to the old port, and the walk along the rim to Imerovigli and Skaros Rock fills the pages after. Oia's blue domes get a spread to themselves. Then turn your back on the caldera for the south of the island, the red beach and the buried Bronze Age town at Akrotiri, with a glass of Assyrtiko at one of the wineries near Pyrgos.
Everybody watches the sunset from the castle in Oia, so photograph the domes at eight in the morning instead, when the lanes are empty. The ferry ticket from Athinios port goes on the first page.
