A portrait hardback for Split, where people still live inside Diocletian's palace. Two figs and a fig leaf are on the front, and the book wants the view from the bell tower of St Domnius, the Riva under its palms and the ferry to Hvar.

Making your Split photo book
Split grew inside a Roman emperor's palace, and people still live in it. The Peristyle and the bell tower of St Domnius begin the book; climb the tower for the roofs. The Riva, the waterfront under its palms, is next. Marjan hill gives the view back over the harbour from the steps at Vidilica. End on an island, Hvar or Brač by ferry, or with the waterfalls at Krka.
The basement halls under the palace stay dim even in August, so steady the phone on a pillar. At the green market outside the Silver Gate, dried figs come wrapped in paper with the price written on in pen, and the paper is worth keeping.
