Making your Swiss Alps photo book
A Swiss Alps book is about height. Put a long valley view on the first spread, with a white church on a green slope. The second spread can show the jagged peaks, the Säntis or the Eiger from Grindelwald. Spread three is for the mountain railways, the Jungfraujoch or the Gornergrat above Zermatt with the Matterhorn in the frame. Keep the last spread for the meadows and the cable car down at the end of the day.
Cloud builds over the peaks by early afternoon in summer, so go up on the first train and come down for lunch. Snow and bright sky fool a phone into dark pictures; turn the exposure up a step. A Swiss Travel Pass and a GoldenPass ticket look good photographed flat. Edelweiss is protected, so photograph it and leave it where it grows.
