Making your Cinque Terre photo book
Cinque Terre is five villages on one stretch of cliff, and the book can give each a page. Manarola, on its rock, is the one on the postcards, so take it from the path above the harbour. Riomaggiore's tall houses run down to a slipway. Vernazza has the small harbour and the tower. Corniglia sits up on the cliff, and Monterosso has the only proper beach. Fill the last spread with the sea itself, waves breaking on the rocks below the paths.
The coastal path between the villages, the Sentiero Azzurro, needs a Cinque Terre Card, and stretches close after landslides, so check before setting off. The train between villages takes a few minutes and is quicker than walking. Manarola is at its best at sunset from the path out to Punta Bonfiglio. The card is paper, and it goes in the book.
