Making your Havana photo book
Havana's old American cars are on the cover, and you will photograph more of them than you mean to. Let them have one spread, a ride in an open top Chevrolet along the Malecón, and make the others about the buildings. Old Havana is Plaza Vieja and the peeling balconies above Obispo. Centro Habana is narrower and poorer, with the Capitolio at its edge. Viñales and the tobacco farms are the trip west, if you made it.
The Malecón in the hour before dark is where the city sits out, so take your camera down there. The internet is patchy, so download offline maps before you go and back up your photos at the hotel. A peso note and a cigar band both have pictures on, and they sit well side by side.
