Making your Tromso photo book
Tromsø is an island town 350 km north of the Arctic Circle, and the long dark shapes this book. The view from Fjellheisen, the cable car up Storsteinen, goes across the opening spread: the bridge, and the lit town at its foot. The Arctic Cathedral, white triangles on the far shore, is second. The aurora takes the third, shot out of town by a frozen lake. Close with the fjords by day, or a husky sled on Kvaløya.
The aurora season runs late September into early April, and a phone on a tripod with a three second exposure picks up more green than your eye does. In December the sun never rises, but the noon sky goes deep blue, and that blue prints well.
