3 We print it and post it
Each design is a printed, bound book drawn to look like a scrapbook. The paper is kraft or linen, and photos sit under washi tape or in photo corners.
You do not stick anything in. The tape, the labels and the stamps are printed on the page beside your photos.
If you want blank pages to fill with glue and real paper, you need a craft album, which we do not sell.
Photos are smaller and layered, so a scrapbook design holds more of them than a full-photo design of the same length. Small photos also hide a little blur, so phone photos from a busy day print well.
The five kits
Each design keeps to one kit on every page.
Tape: photos sit at an angle under strips of washi tape. Stamps: each photo sits in a perforated frame. Labels: a small paper label carries a date or a place. Tickets: photo corners hold the photo, with an old ticket tucked behind. Flowers: a pressed sprig sits beside a photo.
Tickets suit a trip. Flowers suit a wedding or a garden. Labels suit a year of family photos, where every page needs a date.
Collected or pocket layouts
A collected layout puts keepsakes behind fewer photos: two photos, a ticket and a postcard on one page.
A pocket layout is a grid of small photos, six or nine to a page. Use it for a full year or a trip with a lot of stops.
Adding real tickets and letters
Photograph the ticket flat on a plain table in daylight, then add it to the book like any other photo.
Menus, letters, wristbands, postcards and children's drawings go in the same way. Crop close to the edge so the paper sits on the page like the printed tape.
Which shape and cover
Portrait, A4 at 21 x 29.7 cm or A5 at 14.8 x 21 cm, reads like a notebook and suits most scrapbook designs. Square, 21 x 21 cm, suits a pocket grid.
Matte hardback has no shine, so kraft and linen papers look closer to real paper.
Questions
Is this an album I fill in myself?
No. It is printed and bound. The tape, labels and tickets are printed on the page with your photos.
How many photos fit in a scrapbook design?
In 40 pages, about 90 in a collected layout and often more than 120 in a pocket one.
Can I change the tape or the paper?
Yes. You can change the kit, the paper and the colours in the studio.
Can I write on the labels?
Yes. Type a date, a place or a name on any label in the studio.
Do the photos need to be sharp?
Less than in a full-photo design. A photo printed small hides a little blur, but a very dark photo still prints dark.
