The wait is printing and binding, then the post. Both count in working days from when you approve the proof and pay.

Weekends and bank holidays do not count. A book you approve on a Friday evening starts on Monday.

Softcover, hardback and matte hardback are printed in the UK. Lay-flat is made in Europe, so it travels further and takes longer.

There is no faster option for any cover. Each wait is an estimate, not a promised date.

Ordering for Christmas

The fortnight before Christmas has the slowest post and the busiest printing. Allow the usual wait for your cover plus two working days.

Order lay-flat first, because it has the longest wait of any cover. If you are close to the date, choose a hardback, which is printed in the UK.

Working out your own date

Take the day the book has to be in your hands. Count back the working days shown for your cover, then two more for the post in December. That is the day to approve the proof and pay.

After you order

You get an email when you have paid. You get a second email when the book is posted, with tracking where the carrier gives it.

Delivery outside the UK

The delivery price on the site is for a UK address. For anywhere else, the studio works out delivery for your address before you pay.

Getting the photos ready

Choosing the photos takes longer than the post. Put the ones you want in one album on your phone before you open the studio.

If the book is a present, start in November, so a late change to the photos does not cost you the date.

Is there a faster delivery option?

No. Every book is printed to order and posted once it is bound. The usual wait for each cover is shown beside its price.

When does the wait start?

When you approve the proof and pay, not when you start the book in the studio.

Why does lay-flat take longer?

It is bound in Europe and posted from there, so it spends longer in the post than a book printed in the UK.

Can I send the book straight to somebody else?

Yes. Put their address in as the delivery address when you pay.

Does the wait change by size?

No. The wait depends on the cover. Every size with the same cover takes the same time.
